Brandermill Woman's Club

In early February of 1977, a few ladies in the new “planned community” of Brandermill, discussed the idea of establishing a woman’s club. By March 14, 1977, the February 16th meeting had taken roots and the Brandermill Garden and Woman’s Club of Midlothian, VA, had been established.

Over the years, we have raised many thousands of dollars, all donated to many worthy causes, including scholarships to Clover Hill H.S. graduating seniors, Swift Creek Middle School and the Swift Creek Elementary School Carol Deaton Fund. Upon the death of Charter Members, Helen Sluss (1994) and Pat White (1995) the B.W.C. began a “memorial scholarship” in their memory and recently  a Pat Bliedorn Memorial Scholarship was given. Scholarships are awarded to two deserving students yearly.  Along with scholarships we also support other worthy community programs.  Feedmore has been the recipient of our efforts in recent years.

The Brandermill Woman’s Club sponsors a variety of “Activity Groups”, of which some are various levels of bridge and other card games, book groups, dominoes.  In 2015 Daytrippers was started.  This group explores cultural and other local offerings in and around the RVA area.  Members sign up for Activity Groups at our September meeting, upon membership renewal or becoming a new member. Being a resident of Brandermill Community is not required for membership.

If you are interested in seeing what we are about, please feel free to join us at one of our scheduled meetings.  You may attend up to two meetings before joining. Dues are $30 annually.  Please join us for fun, friendship and community service.  Contact our Vice President of Membership, Theo Collins at 804-739-5923 or via email at
